The Science

Why gentle weight matters

Pediatric research shows that subtle proprioceptive input helps developing nervous systems build body awareness, coordination, and sensory regulation.

🧠

Proprioceptive Input

Gentle weight on joints sends rich sensory signals that help babies understand where their body is in space — the foundation of all coordinated movement.

🏃

Motor Development

Calibrated resistance strengthens the muscles babies use for rolling, crawling, and those incredible first steps — without straining delicate joints.

🧘

Sensory Regulation

Deep pressure from wearable weights has a calming effect on the nervous system, helping with self-regulation and focused attention during play.

Questions?

We've got answers

Are these safe for my baby?

Absolutely. Every Chad The Baby product is third-party tested and CPSIA compliant. Our weights use medical-grade silicone beads sealed in double-stitched, organic cotton shells. They're free from BPA, phthalates, lead, and all harmful chemicals. The weights are calibrated to be effective yet gentle — never exceeding safe-load guidelines for developing joints.

How long should my baby wear them?

We recommend 15–30 minute sessions during supervised play, tummy time, or therapy exercises. Start with 10 minutes and gradually increase as your baby gets comfortable. Always remove them during sleep, car seat use, and unsupervised time.

What age can my baby start?

Our Tiny Tots and Mighty Minis lines are designed for babies as young as 6 months. However, we always recommend checking with your pediatrician or therapist first, especially for babies with specific medical conditions.

How do I wash them?

All Chad The Baby weights are machine washable! Use a gentle cycle with cold water and mild detergent. Air dry or tumble dry on low. The silicone beads maintain their weight and shape wash after wash.

Do pediatric therapists actually recommend these?

Yes! Chad The Baby weights were co-developed with pediatric occupational therapists and physical therapists. They're used in clinics across the country for proprioceptive input, sensory integration therapy, and motor development programs. Many of our customers are referred by their child's therapist.

What's your return policy?

We offer a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. If Chad The Baby weights aren't the right fit for your little one, return them for a full refund — no questions asked. We'll even cover return shipping.
